Parker's greed for making money and the way he exploited his client, Elvis, in order do just that. Since there were NO writer/producer/etc royalties to be paid, this was pure PROFIT. I'm sure that Elvis gave this project a nod, because the Col asked him to, but I wonder if Elvis really knew what it was, since it was all Col. Parker's doing. It's kind of a great collector's item and interesting now, but I wonder what people thought about it when it came out. There are some really cool things on it like Elvis explaining how he got started out in the business. That wasn't on any other album at the time, and information was really hard to get. We are already starting to take the flow of information for granted in this age of information. And! I am sure that die hard fans would have loved it. They wanted anything and EVERYTHING Elvis. They got that here. Anyway, if you can get a copy of it. listen and enjoy. (I'm listening to it as I type this...)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30076359.post-9474510154712235472007-05-26T09:31:00.000-05:002007-05-26T09:31:00.000-05:00Oh my god, I had to have this!
