Archie Presents Petite in "Doggie in the Window"

Here's an album with Archie Wood, Petite, and his other puppet friends. I'm not familiar with Archie and company myself. The record itself looks to be from Canada. So if you're Canadian, this record may provide many fond memories (or nightmares as the case may be)!

Here's the track list:
  1. Doggie in the Window
  2. Pop Goes the Weasel
  3. Blue Tail Fly
  4. Do-Re-Me
  5. Zippety Doo Dah
  6. Home on the Range
  7. Mocking Bird Hill
  8. Old Macdonald Had a Farm
  9. Farmer in the Dell
  10. Mary Had a Little Lamb
  11. Ba Ba Black Sheep
  12. Nick Nack Paddy Wack
  13. I Think I'll Eat a Tadpole
  14. Closing

  1. No fond memories, but I have a copy too and I bought it here in Canada. It's just as mysterious to me as it is to you.

  2. This is amazing. Thank you. Reminds me of Asbury Park (before they tore it down).

  3. It was a local kids show in Winnipeg that ran from the 60's to the 80s -
There's even a yahoo group devoted to it!

  5. Hello from Winnipeg!
I used to have an uncle bob and archie record when I was a kid, and for some reason it had Anne Murray's "Snowbird" on it. To this very day, there is still a soft spot in my heart for that song, and it's all Uncle Bob's fault!

  6. It was a TV show on CKY (I believe it was CJTV back then) which I used to watch. I remember Uncle/Mayor Bob flying around on that magic carpet. I also used to have two albums: Funtown and Petite Sings For You. I really surprised that dear old Uncle Bob never got sued for copyright infringement. The songs he included on his albums were the original recordings by original artists. I'm sure Ringo Starr would've been pissed if he knew "You're Sixteen" was credited to Marvin Mouse.

The songs that were "sung" by Petite were usually the original artist recordings sped up (probably played on a turntable at 78 speed).

I can't remember for the life of me which name Bob went by originally, whether it was Mayor or Uncle.

  8. Wow the memories this Archie Wood record brought back. We live in Canada and had this record in the late 60's or early 70's. It almost made me cry to listen to the songs. Thanks for making them available to us. I will share this site with my siblings to they can enjoy the fond memories.
