TV Jamboree: 16 Great Songs from Ten Top Children's Favorite Shows

Here's a neat album with song's from children's favorite TV shows, or at least their favorite shows when this record came out! Yes, I believe this is the same slightly sped-up sounding version of "Popeye the Sailor Man" here, but we also have songs from Wyatt Earp, Lassie, Annie Oakley, and more! As you could see this is when westerns were big.

Another great bonus is that I believe this is the same version of the Mighty Mouse Theme that the late Andy Kaufman used in his act.

Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy this!

Here's the track list:
  1. Lassie Theme
  2. Lassie, My Four-Footed Friend
  3. The Legend of Wyatt Earp
  4. What's Up Doc
  5. I Taut I Taw a Puddy Tat
  6. Annie Oakley
  7. Ten Gallon Hat
  8. Mighty Mouse Theme
  9. I Wish I Had a Dog Like Rin Tin Tin
  10. Rinny, Rusty, and Rip
  11. A Dog's Best Friend
  12. I'm Popeye the Sailorman
  13. Tales of Wells Fargo Theme
  14. How Do You Go to School - Howdy Doody and Buffalo Bob Smith
  15. Cowabunga! - Howdy Doody and Buffalo Bob Smith
  16. Wagon Train Theme

  1. Thank you for this record. I'm a sucker for old TV themes. My brother and I had a little yellow record of the song 'Rinny Rusty and Rip' in the early 1970's. I think we found it in the gaps of the floor in the attic. It brings back great memories. Thank you again.

  2. You're right that the "Popeye" song is at too fast of a tempo. It almost sounds as though the sailor is swilling helium instead of spinach.

"Cowabunga" sounds a lot like Burgess Meridith of Batman fame. I can't help but think of the Penguin as the song plays.

Also, I don't believe that was the vocal talents of Mel Blanc as "Bugs Bunny" or "Tweety Bird". It sounds like a bad imitation by one of the band's members. I can picture Mitch Miller saying, "Mel couldn't make it to the studio today. Whoever can wing it as "Bugs" gets an extra fin in his check."

  4. Does anyone know the song, We're going to the moon, everybody hold your hats, we're going to the moon"? I believe it was used in a Mr Bill animation in the 80's but I would love to hear the full version like I had back in the dark ages of the 60's.

  6. I hadn't heard "I tawt I taw a puddy tat" in years; a version of it was on my Pickwick Productions SILLY SONGS album. In the version I had, Tweety and Sylvester end up becoming friends and singing Tweety's song together.

  7. Anyone heard or remember the song about Rinny Rusty and Rip. It starts out "I've got to cross that lone prarie, looks like a dangerous trip, who shall I take along with me? Rinny and Rusty and Rip. There may be trouble but I won't loose my grip, I wear a confident grin, cause I'll be with Lt. Rip and Rusty and Rin Tin Tin...
