Kiddie Pops

This album features an eclectic mix of songs for kids (i.e. probably stuff from numerous sources) like "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", "Frere Jacques", and "Sixteen Tons" (huh?). It also includes a somewhat freaky cover.

This record has the dubious distinction of being in my posting queue the longest. I put the initial post for this album in all the way on May 23, 2008! The problem is that I did some cleaning and misplaced the cover, and I didn't want to post (or upload) the album without it. I did some rearranging and found it, so here it is. Was it worth the wait? Probably not, but it does mean I've got something available here on the board for two weeks in a row, so it should get credit for that!

Here's the track list:
  1. Sweetie Bear
  2. Billy Boy
  3. Tammy
  4. Sixteen Tons
  5. The Little Tin Soldier
  6. Little Goldie Goldfish
  7. Oh Dear What Can the Matter Be
  8. Take Me Out to the Ballgame
  9. A Hunting We Will Go
  10. My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean
  11. I've Been Working on the Railroad
  12. Beautiful Dreamer
  13. Cindy Oh Cindy
  14. Frere Jacques

Twist to the Oldies with Fats and the Chessmen

Here's an album that tied into the dance craze at the time, the twist. It features a number of old songs fitted into a twist tempo. As with any album like this, it works better for some of these than with others. I prefer the ones that include singing by a cut-rate Chubby Checker sound-alike. Hope you like it!

Here's the track list:
  1. Twistin' School Days
  2. Bill Bailey, Please Come Home
  3. Boogie Woogie Twist
  4. The Camptown Twisters
  5. Give My Regards to Broadway
  6. Sweet Rosie O' Grady
  7. Twistin' Through the Park
  8. Ja-Da
  9. And the Band Played On
  10. Sweet Adeline Twist
  11. Man on the Flying Trapeze
  12. Yankee Doodle Twist
  13. When the Saints Come Twistin' In

Goldilocks - Bing Crosby

Hey, I'm back! Here's an album that looks to have been based on a TV special about Goldilocks and the Three Bears, featuring the voices of Bing Crosby, his wife Kathryn, son Nathaniel, and Mary Frances Crosby as Goldilocks. Those bears better be careful. She shot J.R., so there's no telling what she'd do to bears! Also featured is Paul Winchell doing a variation of his Dick Dastardly voice. Enjoy!
