It's Cool in the Furnace

I thought the re-release of this was the same recording as this one, but it turns out it was totally redone, so here's the original deal. A great, fun Christian musical with some catchy tunes. Enjoy!

(Note: The first song has a couple of skips in it towards the end. I tried getting them out, but I didn't have any luck. Sometimes I can edit in a similar part from earlier in the song, but this happened right after the key change, so it wouldn't have matched. The rest of it's fine though.)

Here's the track list:
  1. Shadrach (has a couple of skips in it)
  2. Jerusalem Town
  3. It Pays to Remember
  4. Tra-La
  5. Show Us the Dream
  6. The King's Decree
  7. Know When to Say No
  8. It's Cool in the Furnace
  9. Let the People Praise

This sounds like a must-have. Thanks for your efforts to eliminate the skips; I know how frustrating that can be. What I have done when sharing my old vinyl collection is to make a virtue out of it by including a banner proudly proclaiming: "Contains GENUINE Vinyl Skips And Surface Noise"
In this high tech age, it sounds like a bonus...
Thanks for the fun you provide. It is much appreciated.

Yay!! Thanks a billion for this. Ever since I lost my original tape, I've been trying to find this. I bought the re-release thinking it was just a re-mastering of the original, but no - its an entirely new version. When I was a kid I always used to listen to this Christmas eve. Thanks for posting this!

Our pastor has been preaching through Daniel, triggering memories of a musical my mom directed at my church when I was a kid. I began singing the refrain "Shadrach, what kind of name is that..." and my six-year-old and her best friend haven't stopped singing it in the past four weeks (much to the bemused dismay of the best friend's parents)! Thanks so much for putting this out there!

This is awesome. I didn't know it was a different version that was just released. I wondered why it was so expensive. Do you know where I can find this old version without any of the vocals?

Thanks for posting this! I grew up with (and still have) the record. Great stuff -- memorable tunes with a profound tune.

You don't also happen to have "It's Cool in the Furnace 2?"

My question is the same Is there any way I can get the backtracks with no vocals? We are doing this musical in 8 weeks!

Fantastic! I played King Neb in 1993 and this is a real blast from the past!
