They're not just chipmunks, they're HAPPY chipmunks!! (Happier than I am, since three more of my links have been deleted.)
This one's all right, but it's just not chaotic enough. They definitely needed a David Seville type character for them to play off of. During one of the songs one asks, "What are you getting for Christmas?" and another says, "I don't know. I haven't been very good." Even then, he doesn't sound very mischievous. They do, however, get bonus points for not actually performing "The Chipmunk Song" on this album. Anyway, it's silly, it's cheesy, it's (hopefully) still a good link, and I hope you enjoy it!
Here's the track list:
- The Twelve Days of Christmas
- It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
- Sleigh Ride
- Little Drummer Boy
- I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
- Silver Bells
- Winter Wonderland
- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
- Up on a House Top
- Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

Hi everyone,
A gazillion thanks and gratitude for the treasure in here...
I just tried the album 'Merry Christmas from the Happy Chipmunks'
The mp3s have skipped/jumped severely in many of the songs. Could someone please rip this album again? I've been looking for this since so many many years...
(I'm not so concerned about the crackles and pops of the vinly... I just wish the songs didn't jump...)
So please, please, please...
Thanks,
ATG
Wow, I've been looking for MP3 rips of these for forever. I grew up with the Happy Hamsters (same group) Christmas albums on cassette, it's prettymuch a yearly tradition.
I ripped my cassette, but it doesn't sound quite as good as this. At least I can use them to fill in some of the skips on these rips. I can send you a copy when I'm finished if you'd like.
I also ripped More Christmas Fun, but that tape is in even worse condition...muffled to the max, and it warbles between speakers. I found a sealed copy of the vinyl for a pretty good price, so I'm going to buy that and try my hand at ripping it. Dunno if my old record player is up to the task, but I'm sure it'll still end up miles better than my cassette rip. If you have any tips or advice, I'd love to hear it.
There's also a Christmas compilation album that has six tracks from both albums (as the Happy Hamsters), and it's on many subscription MP3 services, but I don't have the credit card to sign up for any of them =/ You can hear samples here, they sound great, I was expecting bootleg quality: http://www.mtraks.com/artist/various_artists/release/9629-christmas_impressions_kids_christmas_sing_along
Anyway, I don't know if old comments are even read, but if you want to get a hold of me, try lordasaki (at) hotmail (dot) com
