Cabbage Patch Dreams

Well, here's the last one of mine that I had in reserve. It's a collection of songs and a story featuring the Cabbage Patch Kids. This is (to my knowledge) the only album published by Parker Brothers Music. Were there others?

I've got a few other albums sent to me by some of my wonderful readers. Give me a chance to go through them and get them uploaded and I'll try to get some up here soon!

Here's the track list:
  1. Cabbage Patch Theme
  2. Babyland
  3. Villains Three
  4. Good Ole Otis Lee
  5. Happy Birthday Hoe-Down
  6. The Bunny-Bee Song
  7. Get Back Home
  8. Run Run Run
  9. Cabbage Patch Dreams
  10. Cabbage Patch Parade

this pretty freaking awesome. I have had these songs in my head for a few weeks now and I am going to make myself a CD so I can listen when that happens again.

Hi, I am a school teacher and I have been thinking about trying to put Cabbage Patch Dreams on as a musical. I am very pleased that you have a digital version of this, but I run a Mac. and your files are zipped. I can't un-zip them. Is there any way that you could provide it with another compression system that I could open?
Thanks
Jesse

Jesse,

I was doing some looking, and it looks like the program Stuffit Expander will unzip zip files on a Mac. You can find that here:
http://www.stuffit.com/expander/index.html

If that doesn't work for you, let me know.

Thanks Tony, It actually worked after all.. I just finished teaching and checked it out.. all the songs are there in mpg format..
SO GOOD!!
Y'know when I was in elementary school, we put this on as a musical, and I played Otis Lee. It was very 80s RADICAL.. I hope my class likes it as much as I did.
Thank you very much for this. BTW. Are the lyrics printed in the jacket at all?
bye for now. Jesse

Tony said...

Jesse,

The lyrics are printed on the inside jacket. I tried taking a picture of it, but the fine print didn't come out very well, so I'll just have to scan it in pieces. Give me about a week or so (email me if you can so I can get your email address), and I'll try to do that for you.

What a treasure! My sister and I used to act out this musical when we were little. I've looked for a cassette and been unable to find one to purchase. Thank you.

I am so thankful for this! I had the tape was I was a kid, it was my absolute favorite. Sadly, I lost it somewhere during one of my family's many moves.

BTW, I remember owning another Cabbage Patch Kids album. It had a Christmas theme.

Am I the only one who had this on vinyl? I lost the record, but I've been singing some of the songs to my kids for YEARS! Found some for download elsewhere but haven't been able to get the whole album until now. Love it! Thanks so much.

Wow! I didn't think I would ever find this anywhere. I was going through some of my old stuff and found my tape, unfortunately, its so old it gets loud and then quiet and so on... I'm so glad I can share this with my daughters!

Thanks for taking the time to upload it!

They also came out with a "Cabbage Patch Christmas" though I'm not sure if it was on LP or just audio tape; I recently converted mine before it totally pooped out on me. let me know if you want a digital copy since it is not available commercially yet. ajbierma@gmail.com

This is awesome! We had this on cassette when I was a kid, and my brother and I used to love to listen to it on road trips... over and over and over again. We got such a kick out of the songs, especially the buzzing part of the Bunny-Bee song and Ramie and Sybil Sadie's duet. (Which we'd sing into empty pop cans to make it sound like we were in a cave. My parents either had unbelievable patience or just figured it was better than listening to us fight in the back seat.)

I'm listening to it right now, and I'm actually kind of terrified how well I still know these songs. My brother's birthday is this month, and this will make a perfect bonus present. So thanks!

Wow. This was one of the first albums I ever owned, and I played it constantly on my parent's turntable. I've remembered bits and pieces of the lyrics but hearing the whole album again is just a huge wave of nostalgia. Thanks so much for making this available!

I am so glad that I found this on your blog. I have been looking to find it to send to my sister. We use to lipsink these songs and make the neighbor kids pay us to watch when we were little. Oh the memories. I am burning on a cd and mailing it to her tomorrow.

This is the best Christmas present ever! Thanks so much for posting it. My sister is visiting and somehow we got to laughing at old memories and singing our favourite duet from when we were kids-Get back home. It brought back some crazy 80's memories with a simple search. We may be singing it right now at the top of our lungs!!

There are other albums on the Park Brothers label. I only know one title. Rose Petal Place: Concert At Carnation Hall. I posted it over at Dave's Mostly Ghostly Yuku blog in the Children's section. Bob

Thank you so much! I still have this cassette, but I wore it out. I have all the songs memorized, as I have listened to them from age 4. My sister & I have been singing them recently and wishing that the tape still played. This is amazing that you have them! She is going to be so surprised when I give this to her! We have lots of fond memories of this cassette & I'm looking forward to many more. I can't thank you enough.

OMG! I grew up to this and still have the tape, but it won't play. I have looked all over for it and had no success. I can't thank you enough for posting this! It has made my day!

I know of 2 albums (I have both in my collection), and the other one is a Cabbage Patch Christmas theme. My daughter loved them, and now my grandchildren love listening to them both. Not sure of any others that were made, but I have never seen any.

Thank You so much for this. I still have this record but no record player to play it on. It is also really warped from me just being a kid. The last time I listened to it the bunny bee song was just not the same on a warped record.

You don't know how happy you've just made me. I was telling my daughter about these songs and thought that she would never be able to hear them. Thank you so much posting these!!

I used to be in theater when we were little and there was a song that stuck in my head all these years from the album...thank you!

Hi! I know this post is a couple years old, but I noticed that you had Rose Petal Place: Concert at Carnation Hall - I've been looking for this FOREVER!! Can you please tell me where it's posted, or if it's even posted anymore? Thanks so much!

Love it, we have started a trend in this house, my daughter had never heard of them until I got my old dolls out of the roof and gave her this on CD.

Its a huge blast from the past and I can remember every word. We drove from cornwall to Scotland with this on constantly when I was a child, my dad ran from the house screaming when I told him I now had it on CD.

My daughter also owns 20 CPK, thanks to ebay

Thank you so much

Thanks! I had dreams that we did this as a musical when I was in kindergarten. I used to think it was my imagination. Now I'm 30 years old and have proof that it really did happen. (No one in my family could remember) I have proved them wrong thanks to you! Awesome~

You totally made my day with this! I also had the cassette (as some others have commented) but no way to transfer. I have the Christmas one also - these were 2 of my all time faves as a kid. You are seriously AWESOME!

The link to Download from Sharebee.com is crap. I tried to order a download and support the advertisers, etc. by filling out a survey. A link came up for the download, but obviously the file it was trying to download didn't exist.

Tony said...

Sorry about that, Art. Sharebee didn't used to be that bad. I have nothing against a free file site having ads to make revenue, but that's ridiculous! I changed that link out with a Multiupload one. They have a couple of ads too, but I don't think it's as intrusive.

Let me know if you have any more problems.

I am the singer who played the part of "Sybil Sadie" on both Cabbage Patch Dreams and Cabbage Patch Christmas. Ramie was played by recording artist Jen Chapin. This was not the first time I did the voice of girls--I sang the part of Banee on Jem and the Holograms. You can check out my music at sirarigold.com. Being a part of this album was a huge thrill of my childhood career. Thank you to all the fans that made it so popular!
